Terralink for me is one of those companies where you wake up in the morning and look forward to going to work! Hard to believe, but it's been that way for me pretty much every day for the last ten years - give or take the odd day here or there.

So what makes it that way...?

Firstly, the Place... the team and culture of the company. A great bunch of people to work alongside - I am continually amazed at what I see happening within Terralink. It may be the way a team tackles a problem, and comes up with a way to solve it, or a new enhancement to a software application that is used every day by thousands of our customers. Half the stuff that happens, from a technical view, I don't understand - but that's to be expected as we have a world class team of experts on board - specialists in their field!

Secondly, the Pace... we are a relatively small, yet entrepreneurial company. With 80 or so staff, we are big enough to get things done. However a key difference is that we have a flat management structure, an aligned board, and an entrepreneurial spirit that allows for fast decision making, a 'give it a go attitude' which allows us to move quickly in the marketplace.

Thirdly, the Space... virtually everything we do has a spatial component to it. And the spatial revolution is only really just getting underway. If we think about it, many of the world's economies have some pretty big challenges ahead of them. When you think about population growth, environmental, education, health, transport, crime, infra-structure - all these areas have a spatial component to them - having the right spatial information will increasingly be important in decision making. A recently commissioned government report placed the contribution that spatial information makes to the NZ economy at over $1 billion annually. Spatial data is the currency of the future. We hold NZ's most comprehensive land and property information database which positions us well to take advantage of this. The advances in enabling technology - internet, wireless, social media - means that the opportunities opened up to us are as endless as they are exciting!

Our mantra of 'providing timely, complete, and accurate data how, when, and where our customers want it' is what our space is all about!
