Terralink International Limited Privacy Policy

Terralink respects your right to privacy and is committed to protecting any personal information you provide to us. Terralink International is bound by the Privacy Act 1993 ("the Act") and the Information Privacy Principles ("IPP's") that are set out within that Act. The IPPs set out the minimum standard of privacy protection in relation to the collection, holding, use, disclosure, management, access, correction and disposal of your personal information.

In general you can visit our site without providing any information and remain anonymous. However there are times when we may ask you to provide personal information. Terralink has a policy it observes regarding any personal information. You may request more information about the way Terralink manages the personal information it holds by contacting Terralink, however for your convenience here is some general information about Terralink's information handling practices.

What sort of personal information does Terralink hold?

Generally, the type of personal information Terralink holds consists of your name, address, contact details and credit card information which you provide through using this website. 

As part of Terralink’s business we may also hold information about properties you own including valuation data, details of a mortgage or other interest over the property and sales information.  This is property related information only and is generally publicly available.

How does Terralink collect personal information?

The collection of the personal information will be directly via the individual concerned, or through publicly available sources, except to the extent that collection by other means is deemed acceptable by the Act.

What does Terralink mainly use personal information for?

We will use your credit card information for payment processing. We will use other personal information provided by you primarily for the purpose of processing your order or communicating with you about your order. Information obtained from publicly available sources may be supplied to our commercial customers for their business needs which may include direct mailing. This information is property related information and does not include any additional personal information which is provided to us by you for our internal business purposes.

Sharing personal information

Terralink may disclose the personal information you provide to Terralink via this site to a wholly owned subsidiary company or agent of Terralink, which is acting on behalf of Terralink in connection with the processing of your order. However, Terralink will ensure that any subsidiary company or agent of Terralink to which it discloses your personal information, is aware of and agrees to be bound by this Privacy Policy.

Terralink will not disclose that personal information to anyone else unless permitted under the Act or any other relevant law.

How does Terralink store and secure personal information?

Terralink complies with the Privacy Act and ensures that all personal information is protected by a security system, as is reasonable under the circumstances, against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure or misuse. Exceptions of the Act apply.

Sensitive data such as credit card details is encrypted when being collected or transferred electronically.

How can I gain access to my personal information?

You can request access to your personal information at any time by contacting Terralink at the contact details on this web page. By requesting access Terralink will confirm whether or not Terralink holds information about you, and if so arrange for you to inspect the documents or obtain either a copy, summary, written transcript or oral summary of the information where required.  Under the Act Terralink may withhold personal information within the exceptions that are provided.

Terralink will also use reasonable endeavours to keep all personal information held about you up to date and you can also request a correction of the personal information that Terralink holds. When such a request is made Terralink will use reasonable endeavours to see that the corrections are made promptly, however all information which is obtained through publicly available sources will need to be corrected at the source of such information to ensure the continued accuracy of that information.

Because privacy is important to Terralink, we have set up a privacy committee to monitor and manage our collection, use and storage of personal information and have appointed a Privacy Officer who is responsible for managing any queries and complaints which may arise.
