Terralink giving its IP free to Waikato Businesses
21 November 2005
Terralink International, New Zealand’s leading geographic intelligence company, is giving away part of its core intellectual property to Waikato businesses this week in a radical business experiment.
Terralink is giving 10,000 Waikato businesses free versions of its FishEye™ software – a business mapping tool designed to raise the geographic IQ of businesses of every size.
Unlocking the power of Geographic IQ for SMEs
FishEye has been designed to give small and medium businesses access to geographic IQ technology that until recently has only been avaialble to large corporates, local and central Government through expensive GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software. Geographic IQ is the ability of a company to make better decisions based on an understanding of the geography of its business.
Mapping the geography of business
With the free FishEye™ software, any business can create custom business maps recording things such as the location of customers and assets, service and sales routes, sales contact history and any other information with a geographic dimension. FishEye™ business maps show individual street number addresses and the property boundaries for each address.
FishEye™ business maps can then be used as geographic decision-making and planning tools, or as the basis for accessing further levels of geographic IQ from Terralink International, such as property valuation and sales details, and address validation services for large customer record databases.
Print your own location map fast
The fastest way for a busienss to raise its geographic IQ with FishEye™is to create a map showing the location of its premises and cut and paste it into any other programme for printing or publishing on a website.
Fisheye™ aims to grow the market
Terralink International Managing Director, Mike Donald, says the giveaway is an experiment being undertaken in Waikato only, aimed at growing the business market for geographic IQ services.
“FishEye is only a glimpse of the advantage geographic IQ can give a business. That’s why we’re giving this software and the information away free – we believe FishEye will help companies will see the advantage of increasing their Geographic IQ even further and come to us for more advanced services,” he said.
