Statistics New Zealand Digital Boundaries
Terralink International is a licensed distributor of Statistics New Zealand Level 2 Meshblock Boundaries.
Meshblocks are the smallest geographic area unit for which statistical data is collected by Statistics NZ. As a dataset it has many uses - it can be used to bring geographic representation to census information, it can be used as a research and marketing tool and, when aggregated, forms important legal boundary definitions.
Terralink International Limited can supply the Meshblock data for specific areas or as complete national coverage. We also supply all the boundaries derived from these (see below).
This dataset is updated yearly and can be supplied in most digital formats and in any relevant projection. Available datasets;
- Meshblocks*
- Area Units
- Territorial Authorities (local councils)
- Regional Authorities (regional councils)
- Urban Areas
- Wards
- Mâori Electorate District
- Community Board
- Territorial Authority subdivision
- General Electoral Districts
- District Health Board
- District Health Constituency
Terralink International is a licensed distributor of Statistics NZ Level 2 Meshblock data. Level 2 refers to its generalised form - Level Two boundaries have been generalised using a 20-metre tunnel width (all points rounded to one metre) to reduce the number of points along the boundaries, and reduce the size of the dataset. Level Two boundaries are the accepted standard for general mapping for statistical purposes

*Meshblocks are supplied with a concordance file so they can be dissolved into other respective boundaries. |
